It started with a bear. Artist Barbara Fiore worked in two-dimensional art until the bear. She has always been inspired by the physical and visual world of animals and nature and when working on a black bear for the Milford Black Bear Film Festival, she discovered clay as the perfect medium to express her vision.
Fiore’s new work features colorful, playful animals with whimsical spirits. Her work is sculptural snapshots of her endearing amusement with the simple aspects of attitude and personality. Her polychrome terracotta pieces are painted in bright casein colors.
Barbara lives and works along the Delaware River in Northeastern Pennsylvania with her husband, artist Peter Fiore.
